Rick is "well-armed" and hunts "animals" according to his spokesman...

Peggy Fikac asked the campaigns what kinds of guns they have and use... what kinds of things they like to hunt... all of that (link). Excerpt follows...

Well-armed

Perry and Hutchison like to proclaim their gun-rights love. So what arms do they personally have?

Hutchison owns a 30.06 rifle, 12- and 20-gauge shotguns and a .38-caliber revolver, according to spokeswoman Jennifer Baker. She has hunted quail and shoots skeet.

Perry is more circumspect about his weaponry; spokesman Mark Miner only would say, “He's well-armed.”

As for what he hunts? “Animals. Deer. Like most Texans, he hunts animals. What else do you hunt?”

Miner later called back to specify, “It is deer, dove and quail.”

Mark Miner ladies and gentlemen... I bet he wishes he could have a re do on that one... sounds like he got a little snippy with Peggy there...

Rick has all sorts of friends in the gun world. He unlike Kay has his conceal carry license and spends a lot of time at gun shops and gun ranges shooting large firearms (link). In a different Peggy Fikac column she pointed out that Kay had announced she couldn't shoot that day at an indoor gun range because it was raining outside as this video put out by Rick's campaign shows...

Kay also supports a ban on certain guns... possibly even the gun that Rick is shooting in the picture above? I blogged about this before (link).

Rick has gotten so many endorsements from pro life groups and associations, but there are some big ones lingering out there... if he can pull in the NRA or the TSRA or both and leverage the gun vote and the pro life vote against her, Kay has literally no chance...

Getting that endorsement may not happen though... Kay has gone out of her way in recent months to court the NRA's favor...

Hey now, campaign characters. Be nice. I know a lot of you on both sides, so I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves, or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility.
