Seriously... Kay wants nothing to do with running in 2012...

Kay just keeps being the old Kay instead of the Kay we saw right after the campaign ended. On a key abortion vote, in keeping with her career pattern, only Kay and Lisa Murkowski did not vote (link). Excerpt follows...

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 27, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Republicans managed to beat off a cloture vote in the U.S. Senate on a campaign disclosure bill that pro-life groups said would have effectively muzzled their ability to communicate with voters in the upcoming 2010 midterm elections.
“We dodged a cannonball by a whisker,” Douglas Johnson, National Right to Life Committee’s Legislative Director told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN).
The Senate voted Thursday to invoke cloture and proceed to debate the  “Democracy is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections (DISCLOSE) Act” (S.3628). However, they did not succeed in getting 60 votes to overcome a GOP-filibuster.
The motion failed 59 – 39. Every single Democrat, including Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), voted for the bill, but not a single Republican crossed the aisle. GOP Sens. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska did not vote.

As I blogged before, either Kay must have no interest in running in 2012, or she is just really that clueless (link). Kay already has done some really weird things that nobody running in a primary in 2012 would do... helping Lisa Murkowski keep her position on that important energy committee for example.

What do you think out there? Clueless? Or not running in 2012? I hear in back channels that she is going to try to run again in 2012. Unless 2010 totally extinguishes the tea party fervor she is going to get a taste of her own medicine in 2012. Kay will be primaried, but for her it will not be pretty. Taking her down will become a national cause celebre.

  1. I'd have to go with clueless if we are talking about the guy writing this blog. When the vote is on cloture, the Dems need 60 votes. It doesn't matter how many votes are opposed, as long as the Dems don't get the 60. They didn't. That's what matters.

Frankly the entire premise of this blog is so yesterday. Kay Bailey supports Rick Perry for governor. It's all about Rick vs. Bill now. Get with the program. You don't like Kay Bailey and don't like the way she fights for Texas. I get that. Barack Obama and the Democrats in the Senate don't like her all that much either and like you, there are a lot of Democrats as well as a lot of other senators who would delight in Hutchison leaving the Senate in 2012 and freeing up those Texas taxpayer dollars to flow to their states.

  2. I would NEVER vote for KAY BAILEY after the way she divided our party during the primary. NEVER EVER EVER. She is also a RINO.

  3. Arguing that Kay was not needed for cloture and other procedural arguments got Kay in trouble during the primary. It won't help her if she wants another term.

  4. I comment on a lot of blogs, and I have noticed that anytime anything says anything bad about KBH, there are Washington insider types who rush to her defense. I guess she finally hired a blog monitoring and rapid response team.

  6. KBH is who played into their hands. She is the one who challenged our conservative governor from the left. She is the one who divided our party. She needs to be primaried in 2012, just like Lisa Murkowski was primaried in Alaska. But with KBH, there is already a blueprint for how to beat her.

  7. Getting rid of RINO porker wasteful spenders like Sen. Hutchison is the only way Republicans can reclaim our brand and win in 2010, 2012, and beyond. If Republicans are trying to win by being like Democrats, what is the point?

  8. If White is within 5 points after election in the reddest state in America, y'all can just pat yourselves on the back that you have helped give the Democratic party hope here. Kay was a republican when before the it was easy to be one. She was a female office holder when it was frowned upon. You guys have a major chip on your shoulder.

  9. I guess I just don't understand this blog. What kind of a guy are you that harbors such resentment towards Senator Hutchison and produces these venomous attacks on her? It's obvious from your posts that you really don't understand politics in Washington very well. And, if the Governor and Senator can put the March primary behind them, and move forward for the good of the GOP, why can't you? They have reciprocated their support of each other and you continue this mean, spiteful rant. What gives? What do you think is in it for you? Believe me, when the powers that be find out who you are, and they will, you won’t be able to find a place to crap in this town much less work here…just think about it.

  10. Unreal. That last comment is right up there with, "my dad owns a dealership."

  11. Ironically...the gov's biggest supporter's family does own a dealership. Hmmm

Hey now, campaign characters. Be nice. I know a lot of you on both sides, so I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves, or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility.
