Don't get snippy now, Rick...

The Texas Senate put Rick in a position where he will basically HAVE to call a special session before the end of 2010 because they didn't pass sunset provisions. In Texas, state agencies have to justify their very existence every handful of years, and without reapproval they cease to exist. This happened with a few key agencies. They were not approved for continued existence.

One state senator made some comments about Rick being able to magically swoop his pen and keep the agencies around, which is not true. This made Rick to get snippy (link). Excerpt follows...
Asked Tuesday about Hegar's comment, Perry said: "I don't know where that came from, but whoever dreamed that one up might want to find something different to do in their life than give advice to senators."
Don't get too snippy there, Rick.

Hey now, campaign characters. Be nice. I know a lot of you on both sides, so I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves, or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility.
