Kay reaches out to Hispanics.

A couple of weeks back, I got a call from a good Hispanic friend who happens to be a Democrat, and the first thing out of his mouth was, "why aren't any of you people coming to talk to us?"

I laughed and asked him WTF.

He told me that no Republicans had signed up to talk at the national Hispanic Chamber of Commerce event in Washington, D.C. I got on the horn and called some of my people in Senate and House offices to again ask them WTF.

Not taking credit here or anything, but Kay made it out to talk to the Hispanics (link). Excerpt follows:

During their luncheon in a Senate office building, they heard from a cast of lawmakers. (Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., did an impression of former President George W. Bush that got lots of laughs. Seriously, it seemed Will Ferrell-inspired.)

Last but not least, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison addressed the crowd. She was introduced as "a great friend" to the Hispanic community.

In about a 10-minute address, Hutchison covered tax cuts, the death tax, health care and education. Here are some highlights.

Good for her for reaching out to these entrepreneurial Hispanics. Sounds like she was upstaged by the comedy stylings of Mike Pence, though. That guy ought to get a look-see for President one of these years.

Hey now, campaign characters. Be nice. I know a lot of you on both sides, so I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves, or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility.
