Kay's purse boys...

Matt Latimer is promoting his book about Washington politics of being a staffer, and he is continuing to hit Kay for making her male staffers carry her purse (link). Excerpt follows...

Washington, D.C.: What's the craziest thing you ever heard at the White House? At the Pentagon? On Capitol Hill?

Matt Latimer: The craziest thing I heard at the White House was easy. It was when Secretary Paulson told us the economy was "as strong as I've seen in my business lifetime." The craziest thing at the Pentagon, as I relate in my book, was this odd effort to have Secretary Rumsfeld claim that WMD were in fact found in Iraq. (Rumsfeld never entertained that idea, I should add.) And on Capitol Hill, the conversation that Kay Bailey Hutchison had with her purse boys about putting her nail polish in the refrigerator ranks right up there.

People who have worked for Kay tell me similar stories. I don't hear anything like that from Rick... he is more of a buddy buddy with his staff than Kay...

  1. Kay Bailey is a mean lady. My sister in law used to work for her and said that she PINCHED her and gave her a bruise one time.

Hey now, campaign characters. Be nice. I know a lot of you on both sides, so I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves, or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility.
