Dick Cheney told a crowd of Kay Bailey Hutchison supporters tonight that Texans know "the difference between a real talker and the real deal." And he said Hutchison "is the real deal." The former vice president traveled to Houston for a rally and fundraiser for Hutchison. About 200 sign-waving supporters gathered in the lobby of an airport museum that was once the original termal at Hobby airport.
Cheney never mentioned Hutchison's rival, Rick Perry, by name. But he did recall something that Perry once said about Hutchison when they weren't rivals in the same race. Said Cheney, "It's no wonder her opponent called her a true champion for Texas. I couldn't agree more."

Cheney not the magic bullet for Kay... draws 200...
It is increasingly obvious that Dick Cheney is not the game changer the Kay team or even I thought he might be... I had figured he was close to Sarah Palin in terms of a big draw and a momentum changer. Sarah Palin undoubtedly helped Rick's campaign. Dick Cheney may have helped Kay somewhat, but not to the level Kay needs right now being down by so many points in the polls...
200 people... is that a typo missing a zero?... and he didn't even play the role of attack dog against Rick.
200 people is pathetic for an event of this magnitude, and there is no other way to put it.
Here is the video...
Compare this with the event that Rick's peeps will put on with Sarah Palin...

I was there to check it out for myself along with at least a half dozen other Perry supporters I recognized around me. Let's just say there was a reason the video has zilch in the way of crowd shots. The venue was
ReplyDeleteweird. The whole vibe from KBH staff was just really frantic and nervous.
