The only way to rein in Washington, the governor said Thursday, is to pass a balanced-budget constitutional amendment -- and resist every blandishment from that belligerent foreign clime, whether stimulus funds or Obama administration health care plans. Every time Kay Bailey Hutchison ventures back into her native state, the guv and his people will make sure Texans notice the brand of shame she'll be wearing -- not a scarlet letter A, like Hawthorne's Hester Prynne, but a large, glowing W. And we'll all know what it stands for.
