Kay needs to clamp down on all of this earmark stuff...

Kay's inclusion in the Pig Book has legs on blogs and in news articles. The local San Angelo paper did just that (link). Excerpt follows...

WASHINGTON - The "2009 Congressional Pig Book" accused two lawmakers serving San Angelo of hamming it up at taxpayers' expense.

Citizens Against Government Waste singled U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and San Angelo's U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway, slapping their hands for what the group believes is dipping into the pork barrel to fund unnecessary local projects.

"When did repairs to crumbling infrastructure and science and technology education become unworthy of federal support?" Hutchison spokesman Jeff Sadosky said. "Sen. Hutchison worked to secure funding for these projects because they have merit."

Hutchison, R-Texas, got dinged for earmarks including $500,000 for the Manned Space Flight Education Foundation in Houston to create a virtual space community for students, as well as $2 million for the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library in Austin.

Kay needs bigtime damage control on pork barrel and earmarks.

Hey now, campaign characters. Be nice. I know a lot of you on both sides, so I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves, or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility.
