Kay getting the Farm Bureau endorsement on Monday

The Farm Bureau is endorsing Kay's campaign next week. Rick has pulled in what seems like endless endorsements from state groups, so this will be Kay's first endorsement (link). Excerpt follows...

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
CBS 11 News has learned Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson will pick up an important campaign endorsement in her race for governor.

The Texas Farm Bureau – the largest organization in the state representing farmers, ranchers and rural families – will throw its support for the Senator during a news conference in Fort Worth on Monday.

A news advisory from the Farm Bureau indicates the association's president, Kenneth Dierschke, will appear with Hutchinson in Fort Worth and other Texas cities to make an important announcement.
It is funny that they spelled it Hutchinson instead of Hutchison.

The Farm Bureau has never liked Rick much and have been vocal critics of his transportation vision, but they have held their nose in the past at times... this time Kay courted them successfully, and they are expected to bash Rick on his transportation plans.

The Farm Bureau isn't really a conservative organization per se having endorsed Jim Dunnam, John Sharp over Republicans including Rick and Lt. Gov Dewhurst, and other liberal Democrats in the past...

Rick just for the record has endorsements from the Texas Cattle Feeders, the Texas Poultry Council, and an assortment of other ag related organizations... not to mention this list they have been touting a lot lately...

  2. I think it is amazing that she has already gotten more media out of this one endorsement than Perry got for all of those endorsements you listed combined! Talk about media bias.

Hey now, campaign characters. Be nice. I know a lot of you on both sides, so I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves, or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility.
