Medina screws up again... says many tea party peeps share Austin suicide plane crasher's sense of desperation...

Medina once again tried to show how her own political ideology is in line with the Austin suicide plane crash guy Joe Stack (link)...

"They are criminal acts and we can never excuse them, but nor can we wash our hands and say oh, well, the government didn't have anything to do with that. People are hurting, and they're tired of abuse at the hands of their government."

This lady is unbelievable. It is so incredibly bad and counterproductive to try to tie what this deranged guy did to some kind of tea party movement. No wonder nobody showed up or stayed to hear Debra Medina speak (link). She is... again... truly a nut.... or truly stupid. Either way I hope she ends up in the single digits because anything above that would send the world a terrible message about the Republican Party of Texas. There is no excuse for the kind of nonsense she spews. She can't blame an elaborate Clear Channel Lowry Mays Glenn Beck conspiracy for this... this is her being either really nutty or really stupid...

I am so sick of this lady... she just needs to go away. Hopefully she is never heard from again after this election.

  1. I will never understand how anyone can take Medina and say, "Oh yeah, she's great"... oh my God! She is a nut bag.

  3. People are hurting out there. I'm sorry you're too disconnected with the average Texan to realize that.

  4. Because of its length, my comment will be in two parts in order to satisfy the blogspot cyber moderator. What follows is Part I.

With all due respect for your right to express your personal opinion, I have to say that it is clearly opinion based NOT on fact, but on fact perceptually distorted by your belief system. Your commentary is a quintessential demonstration of how belief can trump perception, aided and abetted by hamstrung thinking, which takes sense data out of context and transforms them into nonsense.

    You wrote:

"Medina once again tried to show how her own political ideology is in line with the Austin suicide plane crash guy Joe Stack."

What basis do you have for this bald-faced assertion which flys in the face of logic? And, why would a gubernatorial candidate, who has already been blind-sided by a personal attack, which sought to link her with fringe elements in the 9/11 Truth movement, go out of her way to show that her political views are "in line" with the obviously deranged views of Joe Stack? This is beyond all logic, political expediency, common sense, and is, thus, ridiculously ludricrous. It would be laughable if you were not so serious.

Your quoting Medina out of context and twisting her words to make them come out the way you want them would be unconscionable if you were aware of doing it, which I suspect is not the case. So, I'll cut you some slack in this regard, but I shall, nontheless, point out that it appears that you take Medina's statement, "nor can we wash our hands and say oh, well, the government didn't have anything to do with that," and find some kind of "kooky, conspiracy theorist" connection between it and the Glenn Beck attack.

Medina has focused her entire campaign for a year on addressing the corruption and manipulation of the people of Texas by the Perry Administration. There has never been even the slightest hint of any kind of far-out radical connection. The issue never arose.

It is to this which she is referring when she says further that "People are hurting, and they're tired of abuse at the hands of their government." The government, at both the state and federal level, has been abusive and this abuse grows daily as those who have sold out to the corporate lobbies and banks wreak more havoc in the lives of the citizens of Texas and the U.S.

  5. This is Part II of my comment regarding the post on this blog.

If you would bother to take your blinders off and inform yourself regarding who Debra Medina really is, you would probably find that she is very much like someone in your family that you care a lot about. She is not a politician. She is a rather ordinary Texan--a mother, rancher, nurse, and business woman--a very pragmatic, tend-to-business sort of person, not the "nut case" to which you are fond of referring.

But, with your cognitive blinders firmly set in place, your writing is filled with ad hominem attacks that belie your admonition to would be commenters to "Be nice....I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility."

"Civility," in not extending, by your definition, to others such as Ms. Medina, since she is a "candidate" makes her fair game for your personal attack, which to my mind clearly breaks "the bounds of civility." You give yourself and your readers latitude to be uncivil to those whom you dislike for not agreeing with your political views. The diatribe which you have posted is a prime example of the insidious infection which is nourished and perpetuated by partisan belief, and it borders on demagoguery since you fan the flames of emotionally reactive uncivility in your readers.

Thqat being said, it is clear how you could post a video (second one) that is such transparent propaganda. If you want substantiation of my assessment, I refer you to my blog. The immediately following post addresses the "the tree of liberty" and "secession" issues which the the video raises, but you will have to read a ways before you get to it.

Also, listen to the revelation in the Feb. 19th video of her speech in Rockwall in another post.

    http://freedomfollies.blogspot.com/2010/02/debra-medina-is-she-threat-to-governor.html

I would hope that you might dismount from that long-legged horse that you are riding and engage Ms. Medina on the issues instead of focusing on her personal beliefs OR "presumed beliefs." This would be true political discussion and have some hope of bringing about the kinds of creative, new ideas that are desperately needed in Texas. Otherwise, your writing proceeds dangerously close to slander and the demagoguery that I have previously mentioned, and it does not serve to solve the serious problems facing Texans each and every day.

  6. If- obviously a big if- Texans are really tired of corrupt career politicians, why on Earth is there such an effort to misrepresent this honorable lady; Debra Medina? There are lots of reasons not to vote for either RP or KBH but there are even more reasons to vote FOR Debra. If you truly love freedom and are concerned for the future of Texas go to www.mediafortexas.com and read her positions in her own words. And ignore the msm attempt to distort what she says or does.

Hey now, campaign characters. Be nice. I know a lot of you on both sides, so I don't want any overly foul language, personal attacks on anyone other than the candidates themselves, or other party fouls. I will moderate the heck out of you if you start breaking the bounds of civility.
